My husband has been going to Revitalize for five months now. He has suffered from anxiety and depression for his adult life, and at 47 has discovered something effective for treatment. Years of medication, lifestyle changes, ECT, talk therapy, DBT, CBT, TMS, etc had worn on him. Hope had diminished. Some things worked temporarily, and some had horrific side effects. In our society, some people will judge someone deep in depression. “You just need vitamins, need to exercise more, think happy/be happy, eat better, and need to go be around people.” It will be implied that the person suffering is choosing the misery over a happy life. We all know that eating well, exercising, taking vitamins, and having a social life is healthy! But when someone is so far down in a hole, those suggestions can be ineffective at best, and hurtful at worst. You don’t insist a blind man see without his glasses, do you? Ridiculing someone for their suffering can lead to a spiral down to suicidal thoughts, internal shame, and a feeling of being alone or invisible. Ketamine therapy has helped my husband profoundly. He was in a state of crisis when we researched alternative therapy: suicidal thoughts, utter hopelessness, anger, and a depression he described as despair. I called Revitalize in desperation. We needed help, or he was going to go to the VA hospital. The clinic made an appointment for us happen for two days later. The consultation was thorough. Every precaution is taken to be sure this therapy is right for the person, and that they are safe. After his first treatment session, he walked out unencumbered. I could see the light in his eyes again, and his shoulders were no longer so heavy and burdened. I was shocked. You could see it in his physicality! Since this first session, our lives have changed drastically. My husband fully embraced the process of the initial set of sessions, determined now to turn things around. He started talk therapy with Kristen, and we signed up for the positive intelligence program. The therapy sessions and program have been excellent! I was even able to do some aspects of the program with him at home: the reading, mini meditations, reflecting on traumas and their impact, and a lot of talking as we discovered more about ourselves and each other. Initially I did so in support, but I’ve learned and grown so much! I’ve known my husband for 20 years, and I will tell you….when in that deeply depressive state, he could not have embraced and committed to these things. The ketamine therapy has been a tool. It has helped him to start to make new neural pathways for living a happy life. We are doing the work daily, and it’s paying off. We are continuing ketamine booster therapy here as needed, and highly recommend Revitalize Ketamine Clinic!! Not only has the treatment been good, the staff is amazing! You can expect to find compassion blended with knowledge and experience. It seems to me Casey has made a point to create a Marvel type of team, where they each have wonderful and unique attributes. Casey’s knowledge of the brain and ketamine therapy are profound. For all of the intelligence and knowledge, he is also kind and truly listens to the patient. Monica at the front desk greets with a sincere smile. I had the gift of talking with her as my husband got his treatment, and she truly cares about people. My husband appreciated therapy with Kristen, whose approach at therapy suited him. My impression is that she’s friendly, down to earth, and excellent at what she does. My husband would come from a session with a new insight every time. Lisa headed up the positive intelligence program. My husband thinks her and the group are wonderful! He appreciated her guidance through the program. We have always known we were in good hands, and getting the best and most compassionate care. All of our gratitude to the staff. I participated in a full 6 session treatment series over 3 weeks and all I can say is NOTHING in my life has been more successful treating my mental issues. The 3 weeks are a commitment and unfortunately insurance will not entertain the idea of approval but I would do this a hundred times over at any cost at any time. It works. It feels like something tripped my power breaker a long time ago and these treatments reset the trauma part of my brain. I feel normal and happy and light. My mental state is in such a solid place after these treatments. If you are struggling and can’t find any relief you just found your answer. Casey explained everything, answered my questions patiently, and helped me through my own experience.
