Dealing with teenagers is tough, I wish they came with an instruction manual. Having Devon work with my daughter was a huge help. She took the time to explain how the process works and what she will be working with our daughter on and overall how to navigate this trying time. I would absolutely recommend Reflections to anyone needing therapy but specifically teenagers who have gone through so much the last few years and need the support of a person outside of their immediate family.

I don't even know if they are in business anymore, no one answers the phone and my voicemail remains unanswered. The office didn't cancel a virtual appointment I had rescheduled. Then, at my next appointment, the therapist never joined. I have not been able to reach the therapist or office since. The therapist was great, but signs point to a hugely dysfunctional office, especially if you look at other reviews.

I am very disappointed with my experience with Jen Taylor. She was extremely unprofessional and has missed or cancelled at the very last minute too many appointments to count. She was my therapist at BetterHelp and now I see she has moved on to a different practice to disappoint many more clients who spend their hard earned money just to seek relief from their distress. She has honestly broken my faith in the mental health industry. I see from these other comments from clients that I am not alone in my distrust.

***THIS IS A LONG, HONEST REVIEW OF MY EXPERIENCE WORKING FOR THIS PRACTICE FROM 01/2019 - 07/2019. Hopefully this has changed in the 2 years since I left, and I sincerely hope Bonnie Tronzo has learned to be a more thoughtful employer. *** In an effort to decolonize the practice of mental health therapy, as a clinician of color, I no longer want to hold back on sharing my negative experiences that I have had with other clinicians in power, especially white clinicians in mainly white dominated spaces. I pushed down the traumatic experience I had at this practice until I recently came back across them while in Cary, and felt compelled to put my experience out there in case others were still experiencing this. Current clinicians working here, if you would like more information, please feel free to reach out to me to learn more about my personal experience. I can also provide resources if you are finding that you are going through the same situation after speaking to me. As a therapist starting out, I was taken advantage of at this practice and was paid much less than market rate. It was appalling to see how much they were taking advantage of therapists, especially those that are provisionally licensed (LCMHC-A or LCSW-A in NC). I had conversations with Bonnie where she let me know verbally that she would change my offer letter, which I tried to get in writing. After multiple emails and a short one where she said something along the lines of "this is not going to happen", I cut my losses and started looking into other practices. Only after I finally made the move to another practice that actually values me did I realize exactly how much they were underpaying me here. At my current practice I make 2x as much as I did at Reflections and it's because I'm being paid fairly, not because I'm being overpaid. Reflections had the ability to pay their employees a little more but they chose not to because they know that they can take advantage of new graduates seeking employment. I know, because I have talked to multiple start up practices at the time of leaving and since then that *do* pay their employees well and provide them with benefits like continuing education, supervision, and insurance. I have also heard from others that worked at practices like Bonnie's that do take advantage of clinicians in the way that I was taken advantage of, so I'm aware that this structure exists and is utilized in practices to this day.

This started off great and was the support I needed during a rough patch in my life. However, I started noticing that there was a communication issue with both my therapist and the practice. The first incident, my therapist texted me 5 mins before our appointment and cancelled because she forgot to tell me last week. The second and third time, she just simply no-showed for our virtual appointments. When I asked about it to both the therapist and the practice, they blamed each other. But yet never was there an actual explanation for what was going on or an apology. I reached out to the practice seeking assistance but always had to call back to check on the status of my situation. Finally, after having to get loud the owner called me back explaining that she's overwhelmed and has a hard time returning phone calls. It was heartfelt, however there are many things wrong with this entire experience. 1) No business should just no-show on appointments but a mental health practice? Big red flag. 2) No business should blame each other vs actually own up to the issue. It took a month for me to get an apology from the owner. I never received one from my actual therapist. 3) We are in a time where grace needs to be given. People make mistakes. But this is a clear case of lack of professionalism. I've never had to write a bad review in my life, however mental health is extremely important to me. You don't just not show up for your clients when they are counting on you. If you are reading this, please do your homework and make sure you are finding a practice who will take it seriously and professionally. Unfortunately, this isn't the place.
