I have been suffering from depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and suicidal ideations for around 6-7 years now. My first time meeting Dr. Ang was during my orientation. He explained the full process to me in detail and helped to reassure me that the process was easy, and enjoyable. After my first treatment of ketamine I felt instant results, I finally felt in control of my own thoughts and emotions, I started thinking more rationally and my view on life changed completely. After years of trying tons of medicine and therapies, ketamine is the first treatment thats shown me long lasting, effective results. The treatment is fairly quick and Dr. Ang and his staff ensure you are comfortable and relaxed with the pillow, blanket, and music they provide. This treatment has worked wonders for me and I’m so incredibly grateful to have found it. Thank you to Dr. Ang and his wonderful staff.
Dr. Ang and the nurse (his wife) are the most comforting and loving professionals I’ve met in the field of mental health. They exude compassion and a deep understanding of the many mental health challenges we go through. During treatments they are there for you. You will feel safe and loved. The treatments themselves are a total body, mind, and soul healing experience and profoundly deep. They will wipe your eyes if there are tears, hug you when there is a lot coming “out”. It is a profound experience, and they are a core piece to it. Professionals through and through. And the chocolates after are so yummy.
Dr. Ang saw me right away and spent an hour conducting his evaluation. I felt seen and heard and--for the first time in years--hopeful. We started with six sessions. My husband and mom noticed a difference in me after two. Ketamine did more for me in 20 days than therapy, pharmaceuticals, yoga/fitness, journaling, etc. did in 20 years. That initial intervention was life-saving, and I continue to go for "booster" treatments from time-to-time. Dr. Ang and his team are top-notch. He has a great bedside manner and genuinely cares about his patients. It's my hope that more people learn about this resource!
I have struggled with major depression and severe anxiety & C-PTSD for over 20 years. My problems began at age 13, I’m now 40. I have been through every possible prescription drug & in various combinations (anti-depressants, anti-anxiety meds, benzodiazepines, mood stabilizers, sleeping aids) for my issues-and yet have had very little, basically zero, success. I’ve been able to exist via various psychiatric scripts. And yes, I’ve done therapy as well. Nothing has made me feel like I’m actually living life-I’ve just been getting through each day. None of these have been effective enough to stop my daily thoughts of “I wish I weren’t here anymore”, and my constant sweaty hands, shakiness & chest palpitations from severe generalized anxiety as well as panic disorder with agoraphobia. I had scoured the internet forever, seeking new treatments for my mental health problems, and last year I started researching the topic of using ketamine for treatment resistant depression & anxiety. I finally mustered up the courage to email Dr. Ang at the Ketamine Center of Connecticut about 6 weeks ago. He replied to my email within about 5 minutes, which immediately impressed me! After meeting Dr.Ang in person, and looking over his facility…I knew that I wanted Dr. Ang & his wonderful staff, to treat me. I’ve met dozens of Doctors throughout my 40 years, and have never felt an actual connection with one-except for Dr. Ang. He explains everything in detail, he’s extremely warm hearted, he genuinely cares about all of his patients, he’s got a great sense of humor-and he knows EXACTLY what you, the patient, will need for your ketamine treatment. He’s also the only medical professional that I’ve ever had that hasn’t bruised my arm when inserting a needle! He compassionately listens, and works with, the patient! I had my first infusion on Monday, and from the minute the ketamine entered my body-and through to my second treatment on Thursday-I didn’t have one suicidal thought!! After 20 years of dealing with suicidal ideation!! I’m completely blown away by this. I’ve never had any other prescription or therapy session or yoga class, or exercise regimen etc, that has actually STOPPED my ideation-and for 5 days so far! I’ve also felt my anxiety feel less intense. It’s still there, but for the past few days, I can leave my house for a bit here & there. The most amazing thing about these infusions is how the ketamine allows your brain to bring subconscious thoughts forward, so that you become aware of patterns of thinking & behavior that your mind needs, & wants you, to change. I had a very profound breakthrough moment last night in which I realized a behavior that I have unknowing been doing to myself due to lack of self esteem. Self sabotage. Upon realizing this during my infusion, my mind was able to come up with solutions that I wouldn’t have been able to come up with in any other circumstance. When I tell you that ketamine infusions are a miracle, believe me, I’ve tried everything under the sun in 20 plus years but have never felt my depression lift up off of me before! And years and years of therapy haven’t come close to the insights & solutions that ketamine infusions have done. It’s mind blowing that I’ve only had 2 infusions so far, and yet I feel like I have done decades of healing already!! I’m so blessed to have found the Ketamine Center of CT; and I’m incredibly grateful to Dr. Ang for essentially helping to not only save my life, but for feeling like I may have a life worth living! If anyone out there needs to break the cycle of hopelessness, and wants to get out of the black hole that they’re in…this is the miracle that you need in order to do that! I can’t thank the Ketamine Center of CT enough for feeling like this. 🙏🏻💕
I am a 69 year old nurse, suffering from depression, anxiety, PTSD, and chronic pain from multiple spinal and disc problems. I have done extensive research on available treatments for all these issues, and decided to try ketamine. There are 2 main ketamine protocols; one for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and similar issues. The other is for pain. I decided to try the one for my PTSD first. It is vital to follow a customized, personal protocol, with appropriately trained and experienced practitioners. Dr. Ang, who runs the Ketamine Clinic, is an Anesthesiologist, who is very informed and experienced with ketamine. His nurse works with him seamlessly, making the experience the best I could imagine. My treatment plan was based on my symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, and medications that may affect the way the ketamine works. The Ketamine Center of Connecticut is the best of its kind that I found. I was treated with respect, had everything explained to me in detail, felt safe and comfortable during the infusions, and knew I was being closely monitored. I was briefed and debriefed before and after each session. I had excellent results from the initial series of infusions for my PTSD. Loops of negative self-talk were muted, and I felt bigger and stronger than my issues. As an added bonus, several weeks later, my depression is better, and it even helped a bit with pain. I am planning to do a pain protocol, and Dr. Ang has already discussed how to customize it, based on how I responded to the series I had. I cannot say enough positive comments about my experience. Do not be fooled by the sprays (not the whole drug), clinics that have a one-dose-fits-all approach (needs to be tailored to you), or use practitioners who do not have the teaching, training, and experience to be using a powerful tool (I was very comfortable that an Anesthesiologist and his nurse were on top of it). And the IV control is imperative. That is truly designed to customize it. My life is changing in positive ways, and I am excited to work further with them as my pain eventually gets worse. As a last note, and important to me, was that Dr. Ang and his nurse, being very professional, were also very loving and caring. I felt support from them, genuine interest in what I was experiencing, and a desire from them for me to succeed. I am so happy to have found them!
